Unless his name is on the birth cert and registered with that surname how are you going to work out if any are his or not

Any child born outside the marriage will be registered in the mother's name....unless he actually attended when the birth was registered, and agreed to the inclusion of his name on the cert

Thank you to everyone who responded to my message.
Jim was married twice with living descendants from both marriages, but it is known that there were probably at least 3 other children, born from other relationships over years - any time from 1942? onwards.
These children were most likely not formally acknowledged by Jim, therefore they may never have known their real Father's name.
However, one of them might know of his name and may just be wondering, as you do, if there is a thread out there they could trace.
So I placed the message as an opening for anyone seeking their origin, they may be another of my half siblings.
