You have your mother born in Huddersfield in your tree, as do 2 others on this site. MIght be best to correct this if you are hoping for relatives to make contact.

Have you tried researching her siblings? Is she the Edith M in 1901?

Hi,
I am researching Thains from Aberdeen. I am particularly concerned to find out what happened to Edith Thain. She was born in 1891 to William and Isabella. She is my maternal grandmother.
She gave birth to my mother, as a single parent, in Salford in 1913, at the house of the married sister of the woman with whom she lodged in Aberdeen. Anecdotal evidence is that she returned to Aberdeen, leaving my mother to be brought up in England ( my mother received birthday presents from a Ferryhill address in Aberdeen until she was 14).
I ca find no trace of a subsequent marriage or death for her, nor any record of emigration.
Anyone know anything or have any bright ideas ?
Roger
