Have you tried finding her parents? Presumably you know who they are. Might be the simplest route.

Have you any idea if her parents stayed together? I ask this because there is a marriage for a man with the same name as her father in West Lancs in 1990. This couple went on to have 2 children.
There is only one birth for someone of his name in the North-West, the other two possibles were born in Sussex and Brighton, so it might well be her father.
Just a thought!
