Hi ..the 'National Library of NZ' (on-line) has an 'Ask Us' librarian service ...they can check electoral rolls -past & present and sometimes newspaper death notices -for the less common names.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I did look up the details you gave me but seem to have hit a brick wall again. The dates do match my GG but I've checked the probate and found it to be someone else, oh well back to the drawing board. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Ive been looking at this info too, i believed my gg had two sons in new zealand not sure about girls. my grandfather was the first child but was left behind when my gg emmigrated. he was never heard off untill his death in 1958/59.
i think it may well be him
where did you find info? was it bmd nz? :-)

Could this be his marriage?

1910/5278 Mary Ann Hopkins Robert McDougall

and two children?

1912/13367 McDougall Christina Margaret Mary Ann Alice Robert -
1910/1382 McDougall Robert Henry David Mary Ann Alice Robert

Can't see any more children because of the 100 year rule.

Unfortunately there seem to be several Robert McDougalls in New Zealand. Here are two deaths,

1958/24548 McDougall Robert 86Y
1959/33570 McDougall Robert 90Y

the first one ties in better with his date of birth.

Hello can anyone help?
I am looking for any descendants of Robert Mcdougal born 1873 Kirkconnell Mains Troqueer Dumfries Scotland,
He was a Forrester/Gamekeeper/Sheep Farmer.
He emigrated to new zealand around 1910 and died there in 1959.
I believe he had a sheep farm and two more sons out there.
