Find Living Relatives

Hi.I am looking for any living relatives of the Allen and Spillane family's from the Lewisham and London arias.The Allen family's Head was William Charles Allen born 1840 and a butcher by trade and his wife Elizabeth Allen born 1846.The Spillane family's head was Maurice Spillane a cooper by trade on the London docks.The last living relative I new was my auntie Eillen Spilane born in 1926 and sadly passed away in February 2012 and lived in Kenton Devon.I would be most grateful for any information.Thank you Michael.F.Staniforth.Allen before adoption in 1947.

Dear Sir/Madam.Thank you for the information I have got most of the information you have sent me.My auntie Eileen did not give me a lot of information when she was alive.You see she was reluctant to speak about the family especially the Irish side of the family and that is wear I am struggling to find information.The only information I have is that they came from County Cork but don't know when they came over to England to settle in the London aria.I have contacted three living relatives all cousins but they don't know a lot or they would have told me.Once again thank you.Michael.F.Staniforth.

Where did you get the information that they came from County Cork?
(And do you mean the Allen family and also the Spillane family?)

If they had been living in London since the 1840's, then why do you think that living relatives will know about their past history?

Dear Sir/Madam.I got the information from one of my Spillane relatives that the family came from County Cork they thought it was around the time of the potato famine in Ireland.IWhen I asked my auntie Eileen about this when we met she told me that the family did not have any Irish connections.But when I went into it further I discovered why she told me this.Apparently there had been an child born out of wedlock and so she disowned the Irish side of the family.I have also been on the 1840 census site and that is wear I found my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother on the Allen side of the Family.Thank you Michael.F.Staniforth.

So have you now tracked your family through the censuses if you found the Allens in 1841?

Have you applied for the birth certificate of Eileen and the marriage certificate of Eileen's parents for more information, and have you found all the births of her siblings?

Have you looked to see if anyone on here have any of your family in their trees, and then tried to contact them?

Have checked 1871 image, and would agree with the transcription of the age for Johanah

As you seemingly have census access, not sure how you think we can add anything to your findings

Dear Sir/Madam.Thank you for the reply.Bernard Spillane is my uncle but sadly passed away some time ago.It was one of his son's Philip's daughter's that contacted me and made me aware of the Spillane family being related to me.But once they had given me all the information I contacted them several times but they did not respond back to me.Even my cousin Elizabeth Leaford has stopped emailing me after my auntie Eillen passed away. I have found another cousin Joy Coles who now lives in France and I have spoken to her over the internet but she does not have a lot of information about the Spillane or Allen families.Thank you Michael.F.Staniforth.
