Hi Rosemary.
I am assuming you mean Ruth was born Ruth Francis and married Victor Darbon?
If so, there seem to be 3 children, one named Anthony J. He is on 192.com.

Ruth is Ruth L and was born Huddersfield reg district .

This was 1940 and mum may well have evacuated north due to WW2

Just to give some background at to what happened at that time.
I was evacuated in Sept 1939 from London to Kent where I stayed for several years until a short spell back in London whilst revacuation was being arranged I then spent at least two years in Birmingham only coming home in jan 1946.

My mum too spent about 10 months in Birmingham with a bro born in 1941 who was about 2 at the time . she went home as she wanted to be with dad who was a night worker at the Woolwich Arsenal .

My aunt too was in Birmingham and had a child whilst she was there so not all her children have London birth regs

The birth is not on freebmd..................have just found it on FMP

I am well aware that WW2 caused people to be evacuated
