With regard to Roman ,s marriage would say that was more like a second marriage for him. If he is Christina's dad

As Eric and Christina were resident in the UK then they could get divorced here

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 24 Jun 2013 20:27

I looked for their marriage on the forces marriages and also on consular records .none found

If Eric was in the Navy and they lived together then the navy would want proof of marriage to give them married quarters,

Our daughter married an army guy but in our local church. So its not on the Army indices .

They had to produce their marriage cert to be allocated married quarters .

Yes he married in 1969 then again in 1977 (he is still with this lady), I'm wandering if he married my Nan abroad I've spent the last 3 hrs studying how the polish came to Britain (I wish now I listened more in History class when learning about WW2 lol)

and I've just created a time line for my Nan and she was probably born very late November 1937 or December 1937.

It should state on Roman's Nationalisation papers where he was born(I cant wait to receive them)

I'am currently reading through all the camps and schools on http://www.polishresettlementcampsintheuk.co.uk/lilfordschool.htm

I thank you so much for you help

Hi Shirley thank you for your reply,

I really don't know if Roman came to the UK its is either him or its very coincidental that a roman Miosga lived in Peterborough

I've seen That Roman Josef Miosga lived in Peterborough I have sent off for his nationality papers from the national archive as Roman Josef Miosga was a butcher in Perterborough. Ruth K A Miosga Owned a launderette but these were both married after my grandmother was born... here is an extract from the London Gazette 4th august 1964

Miosga, Roman Josef; Poland; Butcher; 42 St.
Martins Street, Peterborough, Northamptonshire.
25th May 1964.
Miosga, Ruth Karoline Anna ; Austria; Laundrette
Proprietress ; 42 St. Martins Street, Peterborough,
Northamptonshire. 25th May 1964

I added Houghton (grandfather's name) into surname box and Miosga into the optional key words box and got my answer for the 1962 female the 2 males are deffo my uncles

There's only 2 births listed for them 1959 and 1960 no 1962 birth

Edit the 1962 birth is on FreeBMD wasn't showing on Ancestry as the mmn is mistranscribed

J_R0BlNS0N Report 24 Jun 2013 15:08

I am trying to trace my Grand mother Christina Miosga who was born in Katowice Poland in 1937 (I do not have her birth cert I know her father was called Roman Miosga), I don't know how she met my grandfather (b Peterborough 1936) but he was serving in the Royal Navy (possibly National Service) he was 20 she was 17, she gave birth to 6 children between the years 1955 and 1962, Three of the siblings were born in Imtafa, David Bruce military hospital, Malta. my mother and her twin were born in 1955 and in 1957 my uncle was born ant at this period of time they resided in Senglea. Then in 1958 1957 and 1962 three more siblings were born in Portsmouth but 5 were taken into foster care I don't know what happened to the female after she was born in 1962. My grandfather still resides in Portsmouth but will not speak of the past so I'm trying to piece together the massive jigsaw for my mum and her brother. I have traced my grandfathers family back to1889 with a few surprises on the way but hey that's life ....

Please, where do I start to look for someone who was born in Poland during the lead up to ww2. thank you for your time
