Half brother?

I think I have a half brother in the USA. Last known in California.
I found a kind of death notice on the Internet, A man of the same name died, roughly the same age and roughly the same area.
Any idea please of how I can find out? Have looked up in the local newspapers from October 2011. Maybe not all. In fact, not all!
Any advice would be great.
Thank you.
anne.

Ok Rose, is there a way I could keep this name between thee and me? Just in case I get "sued?"
I am 99% sure that this chap is my half brother.
HIS half sister won't speak or write to me now.

I did speak to him years ago, once, said he would write!
My natural father is my missing link.
I will finish now. don't want you to lose the will. :-)
Thanks.

California death records are online here, there might be more info like mother's maiden name:

Edit: Oops, sorry, records only go up to 1997.

Thanks Margee. It's the thought that counts.

Where was he when you spoke to him and when was this?

Rose, I cannot remember when I spoke to him. Maybe early 2000? (He sounded really nice by the way!)
He lived in Pleasanton, California but the chap I have, died in Livermore California. Not far away from the place he lived when I spoke to him.
As he had a half brother and half sister I would have thought there would have been more about it. That's why I wonder if it is him or not. Sorry for rambling.

Look here:

http://www.intelius.com

This site lists all the places someone has lived. See if Livermore and Pleasanton appear in his profile.
