Not related to the father, information was given after death of mother

are you related to the father by any chance.
there are a few possibilites.
-if the father was an active participant in the adoption process the bABY may carry his surname.
- if the mother did not see her baby , she may have been intentionally told the wrong information and in fact gave birth to a girl. Has happened enough times that this possibility needs to be considered.
- the child may have been registered with false information.

What evidence do you have to suggest there was child born?

Thats the birth we found but theres no boy listed for 1952/53 with mmn screen

So making Carol about 16/17 years old ?

Sorry didn't make dates very clear. Carol Screen was born in 1936, son was born in 1952/3

There are some Screen/Screen births but later than 1952/4.

Spelling her name differently may find another girl but surely the childs name will still be Screen. mmn Screen?

Perhaps a search spelling Carole will show the right person,Paula,this may show the area you expected it to be and the right time frame of 1953/4------

Theres only one Carol M Screen born 1936 but no male child born for the years you are looking for,

Even if the child was adopted the birth would have been registered

Where would I find Keiths tree please.

I am related to this person. I am not his mother, or asking on behalf of the childs mother, I realise this is a sensative issue. I have several births for a Carol Screen, but not in the area I was looking at. As the mother was young and unmarried I guess this birth could be anywhere.

Carole Screen, 1936, is also in Keith's tree on here.

Not seeing any boys born around that time where the surname is Screen, as is the mother's maiden name.

There are some options for a girl though.
