Christopher some records over the years with departmental changes are often deposisted elsewhere,,,,try Gloucestershire Archive Office Alvin Street Glos to ask they have custody of any such records You wont get access to them but Social Services can apply.,,Back then you would have been handled by the Welfare as Social Services didnt exsist,,,,,,Welfare paperwork is very poor and carries very little indepth detail.

If any county boundary changes happended then records are often moved over to the other county.

What story did Ashford give you about your missing file? Try pushing them a bit more.
There are stories of members getting fobbed off about this.

Have you looked on old electoral rolls for the addresses you have? These can be found at the library closet to that address.

because my adopted mother told me she lived at 17 the prom and that was her address on my birth cert , but she must have come to Cheltenham to give birth to me , I don't know why

does anyone have a mother with this name hardy was proberbly her maiden name , she spent sometime on the Isle of man around 1935 , she gave birth to me in Cheltenham and I was adopted , I have not had my own birth cert for long , I don't know who my Father was , any help would be very much appreciated
