If she was born in 1942. what name was she registered as ...it wasn't Yvonne Whiteside

Edit - Unless of course she wasn't born in England or Wales?

Hello there

My name is Laura Brown. I am replying to this post because you helped Karen Thomas (my step sister) find me back in Aug 2011!!! So thank you so much all of you who helped. I have been looking for Karen since 1997!!!

Now, due to the fact that Karen was successful with your help, I am hoping you can all help me to find my biological father. I have very little to go on though.

Name:- John Nixon
Age when with my biological Mum:- 25 in 1972
Estimated D.O.B.:- 1947
Living in;- Chester, Cheshire area
My biological Mum:- Yvonne Mary Whiteside
Job:- on birth cert it says 'labourer', but I did some research back in the 1990's and maybe he went into the pub trade in Chester, but not sure.

Anyway, that's all the information I have at the moment. It probably won't be enough, but I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thank you in advance
Laura Brown :-)

Hi Fairthorn

Thanks for your reply. This is all new to me, so please bear with me and my questions.

To answer your question, yes, I found our birth mother back in 2011. She had passed in 2000.

Yes we have the same Mum.

Now, for the questions...

I have gone into the search section, and have saved birth certs for John Nixon's around 1945-1949. There are 14 in total for the Cheshire area. Now I have these records saved, how can they help me?

Also, am I able to send messaged to these saved people?

I have subscribed with the Standard plan, what can I do with this to help me with my search?

Thank you very much, Laura :-)

You need to 'Search the trees' the records you are finding are just the birth registrations

Look for a John 1947 Chester as mentioned by Fairthorn

Search

All members trees

Also, how do I access this 'GR Family Tree'. Thanks

jax

jax Report 5 Mar 2014 16:26

You cannot...they have to give you permission

Just go to 'Search all members trees'

put in the name John Nixon 1947...click on find out more next to his name and send a message...he may or may not be the correct person but you can only ask

The account is quite old 10 years ish....so he may not still be active but it is worth a try

Hi there

Thanks a million for your replies Fairthorn and Jax. I have done what you said re the family trees. I have found 6 entries, and have emailed all of them.

Is there anything more I can be doing at this moment?

What other facilities to I have now I am on the Standard Plan?

Your advice is gratefully received.

Laura :-D

As you are a standard member, don't buy credits to view the GRO indexes (birth marriage and death) on GR. Use the following site for free

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

If you decide you need to purchase a certificate to confirm or get further details, they will each cost £9.25 from
