The search on Scotlands People is very picky . I picked this up by just putting in marriages ,surname Boyd lady's name Eileen 1976 and selecting Glasgow City

1976 BOYD STEPHEN O'ROURKE EILEEN GLASGOW, MARTHA ST GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 603/00 0075

will cost you one unit to find this info then you can order the marriage cert through them cost £10

It will give you lots of info about parents etc

I'm afraid not, I'm literally starting from scratch I only have my full bith cert which says they married on 6/3/1976 in Glasgow.

Do you have their marriage cert. it will give his age etc which may help.

I can't see a marriage on Scotlands People

I am Liza Boyd born 1976. My parent were Eileen O'Rourke who married Stephen Boyd in 1976 in Glasgow. I have no one whom I can ask for information on his as my mum passed away. Just trying to find my father or if he had any family. Thanks for your kindness. Regards Liza

Liza's birth certificate and parents' marriage certificate should give more information.

Was your mother married to Boyd?

There is a Stephen Robert Boyd born in the Paisley/Renfrew Area in 1950.
An option may be to order the birth certificate from Edinburgh.
As the birth is less than 100 years you cannot access the information on line
This will give you the name of his parents & exactly where he was born.
It will also give you his parents date of marriage.
This would give you somewhere to start.
I do not see any record of a marriage or a death for this man in the Scottish records
The other option is to get a copy of the Marriage certificate.

I read the 'were married' as meaning the two of them (Eileen and Stephen), but you are probably correct on re-reading the opening post.

My mum Eileen O'Rourke were married but they only info I have is this. His name is Stephen Robert Boyd and was from the Glasgow/Renfrewshire area. I also think his mums name was Christine or Christina. Any help would be great. Thanks
