Malcolm Edward Report 19 Aug 2013 10:41

I am looking for my step brother Roy Dean Curtin born Havering Essex in 1967.
his mothers maiden name was either Jowett or Joneti and she possibly re-married in 1972 to Barry Fuller. Roy may have possibly gone to school on the Isle of Wight.
Does anyone know of his Whereabouts or have you known him in the past?

Would there be a way of confirming his fathers name other than asking directly via facebook?

jax

jax Report 19 Aug 2013 22:05

If you have sent a message on facebook....he may not see it if you are not friends with him

jax Report 20 Aug 2013 01:31

Whether he uses his facebook account or not, if he isn't a friend he will not see any messages unless he knows where to look

Malcolm Edward

Malcolm Edward Report 20 Aug 2013 19:20

How would I confirm his fathers first name before I commit to making contact and was he born Fuller?

jax

jax Report 20 Aug 2013 19:34

He has Barry as a friend plus a couple of Jowett's

So looks likely to be the same person

Malcolm Edward Report 20 Aug 2013 20:10

Barry isn't his fathers name I know what that is I just want It confirmed. How is all this info being sourced I cant even find information about me and my wife on genes reunited

jax

jax Report 20 Aug 2013 20:28

If Barry adopted him when he married his mother....then he would now be his father

No one can confirm it but the person concerned

jax

jax Report 20 Aug 2013 20:32

I do not use Genes for records, but his birth and mothers marriage should be on here same as on Find my past and Ancestry.

Any other info can be found by googling in most cases

jax

jax Report 20 Aug 2013 20:49

Not sure why you cannot find yourself on here I found your birth and marriage

I didn't use middle names or initals

jax

jax Report 20 Aug 2013 22:07

I did not say...... IT DID NOT WORK

If you are not a friend of the person, messages go to their "other" folder

If they do not know where to look it could be sitting there for ever as there is no notification alert at the top of the page anymore for NON FRIENDS

Edit as I have seen you have also edited FAIRTHORN

I use facebook more than I use GR so approx. 18 hours a day...I DO NOT get an email when I receive a message as I would get totally fed up with it very quickly.

A lot of people who use facebook on a regular basis would have notifications via email turned OFF

I was just trying to say he MAY NOT get a notification which happens a lot now

A lesson learned, one hopes...............

Possibly he did not mean to block you, as he is a new poster?

If people can accidentally report threads, they can probably block by clicking randomly.

Or it could be a glitch/mistake by genes. (Along the lines of always backup data)

Perhaps Malcolm is having second thoughts? It does happen.

Never mind Fairthorn - there are other members hoping to be reunited with family.

As the presenter of Gardeners Question Time says - Onwards and Upwards!

I do not think he has blocked you, he appears to have gone - try clicking on his name.
