I don't think school records past around 1911 are on line (but someone may correct me here). I think your only option would be to try to check at the national archives. The family were living Mile End, then the youngest children born Stepney - so you may need to look for poor law union records in these areas.

Hi Wendy,

Which of the siblings was your father - just to get an idea of when he last knew of Charles? Also, have you tried to check the admission for the residential school your father was sent to?

Maybe he was sent there, and maybe he was adopted and his name was changed.

Do you know dorothy earridge graham who also has him in her tree on here?

He was one of eleven children altogether although two died in infancy, im really not sure how young, sorry i cant be any more helpfull. Dad didnt like to talk about his childhood, he and a sister got sent to a residentual school in brentwood, possibly poorhouse. Maybe he went there aswell?

Welcome, Wendy.

What sort of age was very young?
Any chance family circumstances resulted in an adoption?

Added:
He is in someone's tree on here - have you contacted them, or know of them?
