Hi, looking for living descendants of the Reid family. James Watt Reid was my Grandfather and born in 1878. He had a brother, John (known as Jack I think) and two Sisters, Isabella and Margaret. They lived in Liverpool. My Father knew Uncle Jack who had, I think, 3 children including Poppy who had a Son, Barry White and John who I think had two children, Anne and John. Isabella became Isabella Parker and had three daughters Winifred, Phyllis and Harriet. Margaret Reid married William Bell but I don't know if they had any children. Is there anyone out there who is part of my family? Here's hoping, Sally

Welcome to the boards Sally

It is very unlikely any living relatives of these people will see this post in the near future.

Have you tried looking for them by searching for these people in the trees on here?

If you find a connection you can send them a message

Sally

Sally Report 25 Aug 2013 21:22

No, I understand that but covering all my options and, yes, trying via trees and searches as well. Thank you.

I can't thank you all enough for the above. How on earth do you all manage to unearth so much?! I feel extremely inadequate. So, do you think Reggie that my Grandfather was married twice?? First time to Ivy Bowes? Wow, I so didn't know that. I've always wanted to find more out about my Reid family history and some names I already have on my family tree but would love to find living relatives as apparently Grandpa never talked about his family and it was only Uncle Jack's family that I know anything about. Yes, John was known as Jack. And thank you Tenerife sun for joining Annie Frances to Poppy. I hadn't made that connection! Yes, her nickname was Poppy and she married Kimberley White. I didn't know his full, real name. I was hoping to find Barrie. Dad remembers going to his wedding in early 1950's but nothing else!

Grandpa (James Watt Reid) was 22 years older than my Grandma so there is certainly a possibility that he could have been married before. How can I prove this??

Sally

Sally Report 26 Aug 2013 11:02

Sorry, I meant Grandpa was 20 years older. He was born on 27th June 1878, 60 Nickleby Street, Toxteth and Grandma was born on 26th January 1898. I have both their birth certificates.
