Susan, both the boys births were dual registered under both the names of Lee & Threlfall as their parents were not married. This is quite normal, and they could be known under either name, there is just 1 certificate issued though.

Hi
Can I just ask how you know the boys were called Threlfall, we thought that if the birth father is named on the birth certificate then they would take his surname ?

Have you tried contacting the other people who have a Jenny Sleet in their tree on here?

I see Donna has the wrong birth year for her mother.

There are also two more Threlfall/Sleet births showing. Are you aware of 2 more girls?

The boys were also registered under the surname Threlfall so you might want include that name in your search also.

Hi Penny

Is it the Missing-You adoption register or the Gov register?

Can anyone please help. We are three sisters in our 50's who were raised by our maternal grandparents. We have recently learned that our mother Jenny Threlfall (formerly Sleet) has passed away, and that we have two half brothers we knew nothing about. We have got copy birth certificates which show both boys were born in Hull, but were adopted.

The certificates show their birth names as George Stephen Lee (Threlfall ?) born 26th October 1962 and Albert Lee (Threlfall ?) born 23rd December 1965, both have the fathers name listed as Albert Lee.

We woud dearly like to know more about our half brothers and if anyone can offer any information it really would be greatly appreciated.
