That was for the OP's benefit.............purely as clarification, in case he jumped to an erroneous conclusion

Merely stating that he wasn't listed in that directory. I wasn't suggesting that it was significant. Sorry for any unintentional misunderstanding.

Have you tried writing to the address?

The fact that he isn't in the phone book is probably not significant..............he could simply be ex-directory, or not have a landline.

John, I had a 2009/2010 Glasgow telephone directory but he's not listed in it.

John, you can't remove your thread until GR has dealt with the report, they may edit out the address from your opening post or just delete the thread.

Best to read GR's guidelines re posting info on living people and then you can always reword another post if needed. :-)

I seem to have caused more problems than the good I was trying to do here.

I apologise for the upset caused and will attempt to take my request off the site asap.

You have his current address (as we all have now!). IF your wife really "needs" her father's date of birth write to him explaining why you need the information and ask him or has been suggested buy his birth certificate. You may need to know his parents names to ensure that you have the correct James Hannah. His marriage certificate will give his parents names.

You could write and ask him.....................

...........and you need to remove his address before someone reports your post to GR..................invasion of privacy

Also contravenes site guidelines................viz:

Town or area where you think the person might be and name are acceptable. Please do not include addresses, email addresses or telephone numbers.

You need Scotlands People for that infol. It's not a subs site and you would have to buy his birth cert through them for that info as it's not one you can view online

Hello, please could anyone look up my wife's father's details, we need to confirm his date of birth. He was born in Glasgow in 1952. If you need to cross reference to confirm I know he was married to Anne Temple in Glasgow on March 6th 1971. Many thanks for anyone's help.
