HI PATCHEM,
I am checking through newspapers looking for Sidney's death asnnouncement to confirm date but haven't found it yet...I have the original from Audrey's friend.
No, WE HAVEN'T PURCHASED AUDREY AND SIDNEY'S WEDDING CERTIFICATE YET because funds are limited at the moment. My husand's birth records that he was lucky enough to get some info from, gave his and Audrey's surname as HAINES not HAYNES and insisted their records were correct. So as funds are limited due to having a huge amount to pay for our daughter's funeral and fares etc, she died in March suddenly in Gateshead, had PM and Inquest and wasn't buried until June....we felt that the money spent on the certificate was better spent on us putting the money to the fare back to Gateshead to plant bulbs on Linda's plot and a surround because obviously, Audrey and Sidney/Sydney didn't always give correct info when it came to declarations. Finding a few photos of Grandparents etc woiuld be an added bonus and Audrey as a child/baby would be wonderful. I am having to check the free sites etc now which is limited
to some exent! Completing our Tree on Audrey and her folks would be nice and gives me an interest away from the distress of losing our daughter. We were very very lucky to have foiund Audrey with the help ot GR Angel and it would be nice to
complete these few little niggles. We aren't eally interested in her descendants unless they were siblings of my husband. :-D

Hi Reggie, Lost my reply so I will start again.....no one wants these people to want to know us but just honour what they said and forward the photos of Audrey and her parents photos, just like they had said they would. Please remember that they had been friends on here and then private emails for 6/7 weeks and spoke to the SSD when approached by them but never honoured the call back and had changed their email address too. These type of people aren't anything like my husband and he never said he would want to know them anyway but I requested the photos for him, on his behalf. Good you only publish bout others what you chose to do, that was our impression and info given for your use to sift through what you want! Chris

Hi again Reggie, somehow I have clicked on and typed reply out of sequence or so it seems. My details for Dora B Haynes are different to yours.....I have her as being born in 1915 and death in 1920 aged 5. The niece told me this too so now I am wondering and will recheck along with Gwyneth's child/children, if any! All the Children were registered in Brentford, the same as Audrey and her baby, my huband. It seems all at 71 Seaford Road except him and that was West Mid Hospital, Twickenham Road, Isleworth Middx - domestic address of course as before NHS in 1948.
We also are wondering about which Sidney Rhodes, niece and friend of Audrey spell it Sydney and friend gave 1978 for his death but I can only find 1975 for Oxfordshire. He was Jewish, married Audrey in Ealing Register Office and had been married before and lived in Oxfordshire and was a Mason. In fact one Ancestry member RHODES has an Ancestor uncle SYDNEY RHODES that looked just like my husband and has now added another Sidney Rhodes also a Mason but the details don't tally up???? :-)

:-)Thank you again Reggie for your kind help, I have been in touch with Joseph Claxton for several weeks, he had Audrey on this tree through distant relative and I gave him access and info to my tree and he took the others ha. He live abroad so doesn't know any of the people. I have the Haynes info from my researching but trying to get photos.....they are a closed shop when it comes to us. The Niece who is my husband's birth first cousin, told me in 2007 when email buddies that she had a lovely one of her grandparents wedding, that was Winifred Helene Taylor from Claygate and Thomas Haynes from Twickenham but she made sure she kept it to herself. Photos are lovely to see and to check likenesses, my husband is like quite a few people on the Gale Tree, his Ancestors and the distant cousin was delighted to find me first on Ancestry and give me info and also look at my tree and take the now Haynes nee Taylor from Claygate AND he added my husband, myself and the HAYNES FROM SEAFORD ROAD WEST EALING from my Tree. Surely that is what it is all about, GR finding your roots and your genes reunited so what's their problem!! :-(

I didn't post anything about other members..that was patchem.

And these people must have been shocked to learn of Audrey's child..............it's their prerogative to decline contact if they wish.

You can't make them want to know you.............

Have you tried to contact them?

Christine Report 8 Nov 2013 19:26

Thank you again Reggie, I will check out again for any offspring of Gwynette Austen nee Haynes. The only thing I did find was a possible child that had been adopted so I left the searching, thinking I must have the wrong person. Cedric's offspring on this site, ignore over and over and I did leave a phone message on one of Cedric's son's answerphone on my husband's behalf when he considered that Audrey, his birth mother was poorly and they may wish to visit her before it was too late but we had no response. The niece concerned, whose husband had/has a tree on here phoned the home when Audrey was 85 to see if her card had arrived. A nurse at the home told my husband and myself that when they told her that it had and that Audrey's son had sent card and gift and visits, she had said we don't want to know about Audreys's son, he wasn't part of her life and she never mentioned him to us, so we don't want to know about him - how cruel!
Jean Racey, my husband's birth aunt and Cedric's widow was still alive when I last checked but my husband would find it unthinkable to contact her personally, she is old herself now and he feels shouldn't be troubled! :-)

Cedric's wife was a Miss Racey

Several children listed on freebmd

ErikaH Report 8 Nov 2013 16:51

Gwynneth married in 1954................have you tried looking at freebmd for births of possible offspring?

The person who registered her death may be related

Ditto Cedric's death

:-)Thank you Reggie for your kind replies to my add searching friends and family of the late Audrey Helene Rhodes nee Haynes.
Audrey was the birth mother of my husband who was adopted locally as a baby.
She was a Chemist Shop Assistant and her father an Assistant Grocer, our reasearch tells us!
He was very lucky to find her through this site after searching for her for many years.
I had been sucessful in tracing her through her niece' husband's tree almost twenty months prior to actually find her. The birth cousin of my husband was very friendly for six to seven weeks back in 2007 and even sent pictures of her, her family and father and promised ones to follow of Audrey. Sadly she disasppeared after giving a POA who refused to co-operate with Social Worker. She had herself told Social Worker that she would phone her but changed her email address. This was all very upsetting for my husband and also myself but finding Audrey ourselves with help from An Angel from GR was a bonus. back in April 2009, she was already in a home. Sadly she had Dementia/Alzheimers/maybe stroke a year earlier, according to the staff. Although she could communicate and knew my husband from birth name, when he visited her
over the next two years and responded to him, things were somewhat difficult for normal conversation. She was a darling and enriched his life but her
communication wasn't easy. Her niece was at the funeral and although she promised photos again when she rang before it, she again failed to do so.
My husband and I would dearly love to know of her younger days in Seaford Road, West Ealing and her family which was quite large and obviously hope it could also lead to him finding his possible father's name. He knows from when Audrey married Sidney Rhodes in Ealing in 1954 and moved to Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. We are friendly with her friend from that area since she moved there and her cleaning lady's daughters. They have been helpful but it is the pre 1954 days that are missing, except for the Gale Family from Claygate, Audrey's mother's line. The distant cousin's have been very helpful and also the HAYNES second/distant cousins abroad who have given the tree's back to 1600s. So now he has a clear picture of both sides of his birth grandparents but is lacking any help/replies from his birth mother's siblings offspring! Thank you for any help that you or anyone may be able to offer, Chris :-)
