Welcome to GR & the Boards, Mike

Click on Beryl's name to send her a message off-board. If she is still using the same email address as back in 2013, she'll be notified that you are trying to contact her. Non-paying members can reply to messages, but not instigate them with new contacts.
You can check if or when your message has been read by looking at your Sent Mesages box on GR. Unopened ones have an envelope icon next to them.

Please do remember that GR never removes dormant accounts. There are quite a number here where we know the owner has become incapacitated or died.

Hope it works out.

I just came across this on the Internet.
I am pretty sure you are looking for my Mother, Audrey Jean Wyse, who was resident in Africa for a while as a child, returning to the UK (Birmingham) and subsequently Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Her Mother was Jean De War Wyse and yes, their heritage is Scottish.
This thread is fairly old now, but I am happy to make contact and share more information if I can help.

Thank you both so much Mark and Jan for all your help, it does seem that this is the family. I have been trying Friends Reunited over the years hoping that something would show up could'nt understand why she never showed up in the school as I did and we were always together. I might try for the death certificate as I really would love to know what has happened to her and maybe to meet up before we get too old. We will both be 80 next year so time is passing faster than I would like.

Sorry, went for meal.

Not finished looking, but not yet seen anything else showing for Audrey.

I always say to buy the death certificates, for any additional information that might help.

brummiejan Report 16 Nov 2013 19:01

Thanks very much Patchem - it is obviously them (thank goodness for unusual names!).

What are your thoughts on this one? Audrey was obviously unmarried 1965, aged 31, so a bit borderline whether she might have married after this.

I am pretty confident about the deaths above, especially Jean's, and I suppose if desperate Beryl might get the cert to see if Audrey registered it. Whether it's worth it to trace an old schoolfriend I am not sure!

I can't see any trace of Audrey apart from the above, can you?

Beryl has PM'd me the address. I have offered to check it out on the electoral register pre- and post-war, just to see if there is anyone with this name living there. If there is, this would likely be her parents, which might help us. Fingers crossed!
