This is what I was suggesting was most likely, but I would get the marriage certificate and David's birth certificate to confirm.

You know the names of the siblings, I do not, so without that knowledge I prefer to make sure everything fits.

Also there was a marriage here, which could give children in the area:
Marriages Mar 1951
ALLEN Frank DICKINSON Chesterfield 3a 559

As I also pointed out, several siblings are possibly in trees on here, and Daisy could still be alive.

So you have lots to work on.

Hi Patchem, thanks for your help.

Last night my friend gave me the names for 7 siblings for David.

Assuming William Allen married a Daisy "Dickinson"

I have done a Free bmd search on all the siblings using Dickinson
as mothers maiden name. And have been able to find all bar one.
Most in Sheffield, the rest on the border of Yorkshire.

So basically would you agree that William married a Daisy Dickinson ?

Many thanks,

Steve :-)

Where did you look for the marriage??

There is a marriage in Sheffield in 1944 in free bmd for William Allen to Daisy.
Now it might not be them, but it is an obvious starting point.

Suggest you buy that, and the corresponding possible birth for David, not in Sheffield.

There are then possible births for siblings in Sheffield that you could buy to confirm or otherwise, if the birth and marriage certificates 'match.'

Hi, I was unable to find a marriage for William and Daisy. So consequently I was unable to find any siblings. Due to David Allen being quite a common name. This is why I asked for help.

Many thanks,

Steve.

If the marriage of David's parents was 1944 in Sheffield, and Daisy was born in 1925. also in Sheffield, then she is in someone's tree on here. (She could also easily be still alive).

There are possible siblings for David, some also appearing in people's trees on here.

Have you tried to contact them?

As a chef he could work anywhere.

My FIL was a chef and he worked in London during the winter months and at seaside resorts in the summer for the season

There are lots with his name on the electoral rolls so it's not possible to pin down if any may be him without any further info on him that could help

The David Allen in question is hopefully still living and going by that name. As responsible GR members we do have a 'duty of care' not to give personal information on an open board which could lead to identity theft. Not everyone would be happy to have such information available on an internet search

One could perhaps get away with it if you were looking for a person who had been adopted at birth and whose birth name would have been changed. Some members might prefer only the month, year of birth and town to be given.

Edit. The full dob has been removed from the thread

The young lady who has asked me to find any information about her dad, is my wife's best friend. David Allen is fully aware of his children. They where together in 1991/2 and after that lost contact. I have been using these sites for 25 years to research my family' and occasionally find lost friends or family, for friends.
So, there is no point this lady joining a site when I have access.

She has not actually expressed wanting contact, but more wanting information.
Is he still alive etc. If and when she gets any information, then its up to her what she does with it.

One last thing, what is the issue with me posting some ones DOB? My self and hundreds of others on this site have been doing so for years.

Is this man likely to be aware of his 'child'?

patchem Report 24 Nov 2013 09:56

If you know his parents, and his date of birth, you can find their marriage and his place of birth, which does not appear to be Sheffield.

The David Allens in Saundersfoot appear to have middle initials, which 'your' David Allen does not?

Why is the person who wants to find him not able to access this site themselves?

What is your connection?

And if you don't remove the DOB, I will report your post.

Hi all, Firstly i would like to thank the people who helped me bring a mother
and daughter back together after 20 years. Without your help on this site
i would never have done it :-)

Now i am looking for any possible help with finding any information on a
David Allen. He was born 1948, possibly Sheffield.

Last known about him is, Working as a chef in a hotel in Pembrookshire West wales
around 1991/1992. He was living at 2 Nash Place, Saundersfoot, Pembrookshire, West Wales. Parents where William and Daisy Allen. I have done a "free" search of 192, and they are showing 2 David Allens in Saundersfoot.

The house in Nash Place was sold in 1996 and again in 2012. I have spoken to the present owner, but he knows nothing of David.

So any thing at all would be great.

Hoping to hear from someone, Many thanks,

Steve :-)
