If you were referring to Shirley's post re the year and area of births or marriages, there isn't really a problem.

As all helpers work together, it does help to have the basic details on the board so that other people can check, build on and in some cases give alternative possibilities.

Different sites have different rules. In GR's case, we are not permitted to post details about living people which could lead to identity theft. This is interpreted as the exact date of birth or marriage. Neither are we to give their contact details on the board, or such personal details which they may not wish to be found on an internet search.
Burke's Peerage and Debrettes publish information which is normally provided by the family.

There have been arguments in the past when there is a conflict between Australian Laws and those of the UK. As this is a UK owned and operated site, the UK laws apply.

You have found the Napier I was looking for . Son of Horation, wife Lilian, dau Charlotte etc.

I have inherited the autobiography of his brother who died in South Africa 1969 and have spent ages working on it. Now I need to find a relative. Thanks again.
