I am looking for any living relative of Jonas Whitaker who married a Maude Beacham around 1905? They came from Keighley Yorkshire but "emigrated" to Canada where Jonus died in 1910. Maude returned to the UK in 1911 with their son Donald Brigg, He appears to have married a Florence Rosina Crouch and they lived in the Worthing area. There are living relatives of Donald and Florence both now deceased. Can anyone help please to contact a descendant in order that I can fill in a few gaps of theirs and my tree.
Regards
Cameron

Could you give us the names of those descendants, and have you looked for marriages for them, etc?

Have you looked to see if they are in anyone's tree on here?

Just for ref:
Donald Brigg Whitaker
Birth Date: 12 Nov 1908
Date of Registration: Aug 1985
Age at Death: 76
Registration District: Worthing
Inferred County: West Sussex

Added:
I think one of Donald and Rosina's sons (William) has one of his sons (Stephen) as a member on here.

Hi Thelma, I have this but the contact has not been on for over a year so not sure if he is still a member? I have sent a message to him though.
Thanks Patchem I will have a look at this, there are a number of descendants but all "private"

If you are trying to fill in gaps in your tree via genes then you need to contact them, explain who you are, and then ask to see their trees, and make your tree open to them if required.

Yesterday you had no knowledge of Donald's life, so presumably your connection is not close?

Thanks "Prickly Holly"

Hi "Patchem" I have done this on Ancestry via old contact but unsure whether he is still with Ancestry? No I had no idea of Donalds existence yesterday only that his mother Maud (my Gt Grand Aunt in Law) was had been married to a Whitaker prior to my Gt Grand Uncle's marriage to her in 1915. Just would like to fill in my "spaces" and help the Whitaker tree correct a few "mistakes" on theirs.

Thelma

Thelma Report 4 Jan 2014 18:06

The tree on Ancestry has 8 children for Donald and Florence but I can only find 6.
The tree owner appears to be a son but has a different surname?

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 4 Jan 2014 18:32

Who is being looked for in Canada Ann?

Wife and son can back to the UK after he died

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 4 Jan 2014 19:03

well presumably descendants of Donald, so if he was back in UK they won't be in Canada :-S
