With regard to Thomas - I have him as Thomas Ernest Attewell (name on marriage certificate and also Winifred's death certificate) but I believe he may have swapped his names around as his death in 1984 is showing Ernest Thomas and his birth he was Ernest Thomas (born 29 Apr 1915 - from death certificate).

Do you have Thomas' middle name? There's a tree Mundia that lists him as Earnest Thomas. I thought it might be Eric as there's a death that fits.

Yes, I am on the case there. I believe he had two daughters. One of which I'm not sure if I have found the right one (Caroline), the other I can't find at all (Jacqueline).. Caroline was perhaps married twice and possibly moved to Ascot, then Hailsham and then London. Jacqueline married once but can't locate her. I have been looking into this today and will keep searching this avenue too.

Looks like Mr Attewell was married before. Have you searched for his family?

Yes - nothing on the mother's death certificate. Name of informant was Annette Marie Noonan of Lawrence House, Talbot Street, Nottingham and qualification was 'Causing the body to be cremated'. The address appears to be a council address and searching for Ms Noonan shows that she was a Superintendent.

The address showing for 2002-2004 was her last address on the death certificate.

Have you checked who registered his mothers death in Nottingham 2004? Or looked for Winifred on 192.com?

Looks like she was living alone in Nottingham on 2002-4 ERs, maybe someone with FMP could look up the address?

I now have an update.. apparently he moved to the Nottingham area with his mother (Winifred May Wooldridge, later Winifred May Attewell, nee Winifred May Peacock) around 1964 when he was about 12 years old. Unfortunately, I can't find anything there either!

If he is a free member, does he get a notification of new messages and is he able to read and reply to them? This could well be the problem...

My dad has a tree on here with just him in it no one else.....same as when I joined in 2007 I just had myself until I became a paying member in 2010 then I added others

well he may have moved. we no longer live in London where we were both born and married .

Can only suggest again you write to the addresses of the ones that come up on the electoral rolls . You may get lucky .

It is possible though he opted out of the public rolls ,we did several years ago to try and stop junk mail etc

I'm afraid the only area we know of is Bristol - it's not much at all to go on!

He may have been born in Bristol but thats not necessarily where he still lives.


As all else hasnt found him can only suggest you write to the ones you have found to see if any of them are him

No, the message hasn't been opened and it was in my own words.

I have found several Brian Wooldridge's in the electoral roll records. But it's very difficult to pinpoint which ones are possible matches. Especially since most don't have ages against them and none are in or near Bristol. I have the address for the Liverpool one and unfortunately, they aren't on directory enquiries either.

I was hoping that someone may know another way of searching for the right person?!

Sorry - yes, I had looked on here and found that he was on here. However, I noticed that he had not added his parents names or siblings. I wonder whether some members are on here from a sister site or something and do not realise it themselves? This is something I have found in the past.. Is this possible?!
