Does anyone have any information about Gordon Kichener Perry of Cheltenham born 1915 but where I am not sure? I cannot find much information regarding him, I know he served in the HM Forces. Any info would be very much appreciated.

If you are his next of kin, you can apply for his service records.....they will cost £30.00, and take several months to arrive

Unclear as to why a birth for a SMITH has been posted

Get a copy of his death cert, to find out if the informant knew where Gordon was born

REGGIE (Unclear as to why a birth for a SMITH has been posted)

Cos there is no birth that fits ... nothing in Scotland

as a hell of a lot of WW1 WIDOWS remarried it was possible a surname change
but can not find a mother that fits. Hence the ?

Perhaps Claire would prefer write to the son .?

The veterans site will only lead you to the official .gov.uk site where the info and forms are for a request for personal data, link below,

You don't need to be next of kin, or have their consent but there are some criterior that needs to be met

See https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records
