Have you looked for him on the Bmds ?

If he was in his 70's in the 1950's he must have passed away by now

Have you done any research?

Are you related?

Presumably, the age you suggest is current?

Welcome to the boards, Andrew.

Have you contacted anyone on here who may have him in their tree?

Do you mean born about 1938?

Is there a possibility he is related to you?

Thank-you

Sylvia

Hello Andrew.
There is someone on here with a Thomas Fitzharris in his tree born 1940.

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 25 Mar 2014 11:40

wouldn't it be nice if more people would take the two extra minutes it would take to make a post coherent, maybe even put some punctuation in ...

he lived in Sheffield in 1958
he moved to Manchester in 1959
HE WOULD BE aged 75 to 77 NOW
he was originally from Ireland
thanks

is how I think that is supposed to read

I blame mobile telephones.
Postings to complete strangers in internet forums are treated like txtmsges to people who know what someone is talking about.

could he be this person? Thomas V Fitzharris 1939 Ireland

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F144-5MP

(please click; I do not want to put details about a possibly living person here ... it includes his place and quarter of birth and his mother's surname)

The only Thomas V Fitzharris marriage in England/Wales was in 1947 so not him.
(that person was on the electoral roll to 2009 with the wife from that 1947 marriage)

Have you been told this man is your father? seeing as his where abouts fits in with your birth

Reggie

That's the usual scenario with this sort of post...........

Perhaps Andrew will return eventually and answer the questions posed.

ANDREW

ANDREW Report 13 Apr 2014 13:55

HI I HAVE BEEN TOLD
THAT THOMAS FITZHARRIS
BORN IN IRELAND, AND LIVED IN SHEFFIELD IN 1958
HE MOVED TO MANCHESTER IN 1959
HE WOULD BE AGED BETWEEN 74 AND 77
HIS MY BIOLOGICAL FATHER
I WAS BORN IN 1959
ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED THANKS

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 13 Apr 2014 15:58

well have you considered any of the information posted here ???

we understand you are looking for information about him as of today (or his death) and any other information after your birth

but it is important to try to establish what the facts about him might be

such as his date of birth, his parents, and any brothers and sisters

because with information like that you can search for other people in his family who might know something of him

please don't type in all capitals Andrew, it is actually much harder for people to read and makes us feel you are shouting at us

Reggie

Reggie Report 13 Apr 2014 22:10

Is he likely to be aware that he fathered a child with your mother?

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 14 Apr 2014 00:15

possibly simpler than the link Fairthorn gave - all you have to do is click it to see the information there

all children with the same parents' surnames, born in Ireland 1930-1944

https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=75&query=%2Bsurname%3Afitzharris~%20%2Bbirth_place%3Aireland%20%2Bmother_surname%3Acooley%20%2Brecord_type%3A%280%29

the one with initials LL may have married in Middleton in 1956
(no birth in England/Wales for that name and it seems to be quite rare)

there is a birth to that marriage ... but I can't find that person or the parents afterward

there is also a birth to the 1967 Thomas Fitzharris marriage
that person was probably on the electoral roll in Bolton to 2006 but I can't find him since

these are the parents of the children born in Ireland

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FYJP-K48
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FYJM-529

the marriage was
Event Date: Jan - Mar 1929
Event Place: Naas, Ireland
Registration Quarter and Year: Jan - Mar 1929
Registration District: Naas
Age:
Birth Year (Estimated):
Mother's Maiden Name:
Volume Number: 2
Page Number: 467
GS Film number: 101576

there is no guarantee that any of these people are related to you or to one another but the only way to know is to try to find more information about them or someone who is related to them

if any were in England they could have returned to Ireland

................ actually I have found the wife of the Thomas Fitzharris who married in 1967, on the present electoral roll and telephone book ......... rather stupid not to have looked before ........ this is quite delicate so anyone's input is welcome

ANDREW

ANDREW Report 14 Apr 2014 10:04

HI Thomas Fitzharris his aware he fathered a child in 1959
he had contact with me in 1959 in Manchester this is all the info I have
not much to go on.
Could JoonieCloonie send me details of the electoral roll and phone book details for Thomas Fitzharris who wed in 1967 I can not find them I am new to this thanks very much. iam intending to go to Ireland next month am desperate to find out thanks

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 14 Apr 2014 10:31

Andrew I'm so sorry

I followed all the information through and found at 192.com that the Thomas there had held company directorships

I looked up more information about him from Companies House listings

and I found the detail that his date of birth was 1945

that means that the man in the 1967 marriage
(I can't see now who first suggested that possibility, the message seems to be deleted)

was the man born in 1945 whose death details Fairthorn posted above

and not your Thomas

I have to dash now and will look back in later today or tomorrow ... maybe someone else can think of something
