Yes you are right, it is the 1924 birth in Lancashire, my mistake. Can not find a death cert though. Helping a friend find out what happened to her father.

The one born in 1924 did not have the middle names of Michael Derry as mentioned in Reggie's post at 13.49.....where was he born? where was he last known to be living please?

He may still be alive or died since 2007

The person who posted on ancestry said he married in Scotland....is that where he lived? you may need to look on scotlands people which is a pay to view site

The names given to you by your friend are NOT the man born in Preston.

As I said before, his names sound IRISH

When and where was your friend born? Is her father named on her birth cert?

My friend has confirmed that this is the right birth cert for her Dad. She has been looking for him for a long time now.
Trying to find a death cert, he could have died in Scotland or England.

UNLESS............your friend - or someone connected with her - guessed at the second and third forenames for the man

So his name is Richard Matthews Dermot Cooper ?

The other thread on Ancestry which could be posted by your friends husband, says he married in Scotland and was known as Paddy?

If he married/died in Scotland, you will have to get credits for Scotlands people website and search on there

If he was known as 'Paddy', that would seem to bear out reggie's line of thought, and the names Michael Derry are distinctly irish
