thank you Rose
i did try freebdm and turned up nothing more than i knew.
the marriage to Doris (dolly) Berrick did not result in children.
i should explain that the marriage became bad and Gordon left never to return or be heard of again. hence my search for him.
i knew aunt Dolly from my first memories until her death about 5/7 years ago.

patchem, i did managed to post this in another forum. its my first day so please forgive me.

people have been wonderfully helpful.

I was not intending to chastise you.

I just did not want people on here duplicating the answers that had already been found on the other thread.

Or the research going off in two different directions which means you would be going backwards and forwards trying to sort everything out. Very confusing.
