I am looking for either 1 or 2 siblings who were born to Eileen Mary Rose, the years concerned are probably 1946 and late 1948/1949.
She lived in Poole in Dorset and is supposed to have the first child, a girl, in Weymouth but I can find no trace of birth certificates.
Also, I have found a home called St Gabriels in Weymouth at the time, does anyone know of any other M+B homes in Weymouth.

Hello Andrea,

Do have an approximate date of when Eileen was born?

Was Rose her maiden or married name?

If Eileen was unmarried - there are two Rose births in Bournemouth with mother's maiden name Rose- a girl born 1st qtr of 1944 and a boy born 4th qtr of 1948 that might fit your information.

Andrea Report 23 Aug 2015 18:14

Eileen was born 1928. It was her maiden name. Def not 1950, I was born early 1951.
It is not the twins. I have a list of those it ISN'T.
Peter B 1948, David 1946, Peter C 1948,Antony 1949, Barrie 1946,Adrian 1948,Janet 1947,Michael 1945, Susan 1949, Carole 1946,Cheryl 1947,Wendy 1944, Mary 1945, Angela, Ann or Christopher.
Although she used her correct details when she applied for the home and on my birth certificate, I am beginning to despair and wonder if she used a false name.
Thank you for both for your help

Apologies if this is totally incorrect but ...

I searched for a marriage for Eileen M Rose both on here and Freebmd

Eileen M Rose ...to Andrew Gill...at POOLE Dec 1943

Births for Gill ..Rose ???

Pauline M reg..Rother Valley 1943

Elaine reg Wellington shrops 1946 and also in 1948 states late entry..do check this one as I wondered if earlier reg could mean born elsewhere.

Silvia C reg Blandford 6a 850

Leonard W reg Birmingham 1948 9c377

Where or if you come into this I do not know..but find it interesting that you have the female version of Andrew as your Christian name ? !!

Best Wishes

Andrea

Andrea Report 25 Aug 2015 09:14

Rose-There are 2 David Rose's. One is Eileen's brother and the other is her nephew. I met the nephew a few weeks ago.
Kay-Eileen's dob is correct. Yes I know, it seems almost incomprehensible that she had 2 children, 5 years apart with the same man. But her sister in law assures me that is the case. Also 1 member of her family says there was another one born in 1948/9 and another member says that it isn't the case. I really don't know what to think. Both family members agree that the first child was a girl in 1946 and born in Weymouth. But I can find no trace whatsoever.
Thank you both

Autumnleaves
I looked at that marriage as well, but she would only have been 15 at the time.
I have checked Elaine and Leonard but they are not correct.
I will try Silvia C.
thanks and regards

As the 1943 marriage took place between Oct/Dec,
and the 1928 birth was reg Oct/Dec

,,,,,,,,,you could and now get married with parental consent at 16, perhaps it maybe worth investing to get that marriage certificate if you know some background for confirmation.

Andrea

Andrea Report 25 Aug 2015 11:49

yes, there is a chance then, I will ask her sister in law although I think it unlikely as I have her marriage cert from 1954 and it says spinster.

thanks + regards
Andrea

Kay????

Kay???? Report 25 Aug 2015 13:21

It will state spinster if the marriage was ever annulled,,,,,,,,,also if it was, although it appears in the index no certificate will be issued as its taken out of the main registeres at held with the GRO.

If she was ever marriaed and divorced there was nothing to stop her reverting back to a former name, but should declare to relevant body, vicar etc or a registrar if any previous marriages took place,,,,,,,,

Andrea,

Eileens father seems to have left a Will,if a child exsists and wasnt adopted perhaps they were mentioned,?

Andrea

Andrea Report 25 Aug 2015 19:43

I have read the will (many years ago) and I thought from the will there were, I think 4 or 5 children. In reality, when I spoke to a half-sibling, there were 10. And I none of the names in the will were a surprise to me.

thank you very much
Andrea
