Pauline Report 24 Jan 2016 14:50

Tracing a John O'Neill, probably originate from Ireland, Believed to be stationed in Preston Barracks during WW1, who married a Mabel Martha Slarks, 1916, Brighton, I have a son's name Douglas W O'Neill.
Mabel had several children one of which was my Uncle, John Frederick Slarks, brother Edward James Arthur Slarks.
Would like to be in touch with family members.
Thanks

Thank you all for your replies, since adding my post I had found out that Douglas was not Mabels son but the son of "Vane". It was really John O'neill I am interested in. I will concentrate my research in Kew.

If you purchase the marriage certificate you will get his age and father's name.

Douglas could still be Mabel's son. Perhaps he was registered under Vane instead of Slarks?. There are no other O'neill/Slark births and there isn't a marriage.

Look at Shirley's 1911 census, Mabel is there with 2 children named Slarks and her relationship to the head of the household is daughter - head is Isabel VANE.

Could she perhaps be an unofficial adopted daughter and used Vane as mmn????????
