My grandfather was William Armstrong I believe he was a sailor he was born in Liverpool and was married and had a family he was still on the 1901 census . I know in 1010 he was offered a job by mr Parker in Ontario Canada I would be interested if any family out there had any more news of what happened to him

Problem with that death, Ann, is that he was born 1892 so couldn't have a wife in 1901.

William H Armstrong. born 1863 Liverpool, is a sailor on the 1891 census. (But he does not have to be the correct William, and there is a possible death for him in 1938 in Liverpool).

William Armstrong was born in Liverpool about 1877 he married rachel burgess they had 4 children one died and the youngest called William was my father he was born in 1904 sadly my father died when I was very young when his eldest sister died we found a letter from a mr Parker in Windsor Ontario Canada saying he had given my grandfather a job but I don,t know if he stayed there as far as I know his family never heard anything else from him and my grandmother was left to bring the family up on her own it would be nice to know what happened to him

You said William senior was on the 1901 census - he should have been with Rachel, but I can't see her anywhere in 1901. Can you post the 1901 you found, please, Dollybrush?
