Hello Prickles .
Thank You extremely very much for your diligence and hard work that you have done for me . I know some of what you have written of Robert Pearson Mitchell .
Thomas married Ann Richardson ( Mary Ann Richardson ) 1817 , St Martin , Stamford Baron . Two children , Mary Richardson Mitchell and , John Mitchell ( my direct gt gt gdfather , chr. 04/04/1821 , Stamford Baron . " Ann " died 1824 , aged 30 . Thomas then marr. Susanna Pearson 1825 , St Marys , Stamford , Lincolnshire , at least eleven children . On average , Thomas is 17 years older than Susanna .
Thomas Mitchell chr. 1788 , St Martin , Stamford Baron , Northamptonshire . This Thomas was NOT born 1803 . A younger brother named John , chr. 1790 , about ten children . William chr. 09/09/1826 , Stamford Baron . Mother = Susanna . William spent almost ten years here in N Z . Believe it or not , a son born to him here in N Z . A loong story . Therefore , I am half related to the eleven plus children of Susanna . Absolutely beyond all doubt , I am decended from
" The Mitchell's Of Stamford Baron " . ( Water St ., and Milner's Building ) .
I am very very curious as to " who " you are , Prickles ? .
Written at midnight . In four hours time , I'm up and off to a funeral of three days out in the bush in the far north . It may take me a week to catch up again .

Extremely Thankful , John Mitchell .

John - no one who has posted on your thread is related to your Mitchell family.
As they weren't quite sure what you were asking for when you posted, they did a bit of research.

As Prickles pointed out, to find connected descendents, you need to search all members trees for the ancestors names.

Hello again John

I went to the address of 40 St John's Road, Hedge End this morning. As luck would have it, a lady was in the garden and I had a very nice chat with her.

She told me that Thornycroft House had been pulled down quite some years ago (In the 80s) and that she and her husband had bought the land and built their house on it.

A shame, as I would have liked to have taken a photo and sent it to you

There are two church's in St John's Road.....St John The Evangelist, which is just two properties away......and Hedge End Methodist Church, which is just a little further along the road.

Next time I go there, I will take a look around the graveyards to see if I can find any headstones belonging to your Mitchell family.

Hi again John

I did visit St John The Evangelist Church and Hedge End Methodist Church at the weekend.

There is not a graveyard at St John......but there is at Hedge End Methodist Church.

Of course there were many unmarked graves.......but no gravestones with the surname of "Mitchell"

In no way was it a waste of my time........In fact it was an absolute pleasure.
