Thanks for the link, Ive just downloaded it, but its sadly not him... Im now trying to find out where the detail came from, possible one of my relatives found it. Ive tried searching for details of William on the NA site, but nothing I could see, but Im not used to how the site works.
If you notice another there, please let me know

There's this record on the National Archives website which you can download for £3.36, Date of birth is out but he could have lied about his age

Ive been trying to find out a little about my Grandfathers military service, we know (family) very little about what he did, other than he enlisted in the Royal Marines from Watts Naval School on the 25th July 1925 and I have been told he stayed in for 25 years and played the coronet in the Royal Marines Band.
I have just downloaded a couple of forms from the MOD website, but I wanted to gather as much information about him before sending the request and wondered if there is way of finding his service number, we dont even have any service photos, let alone any service details.
