I am researching a GGreat Uncle and found his service records and wondered if someone could point me in the right direction as to what campaigns these would have been awarded for.
Would like to add this as background information for him.

Always worth a google for information Ann - then you can read all about the various medals in full. They almost explain themselves.

eg.
Second Boer War - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Boer_War
The Second Boer War usually known as the Boer War and also at the time as the South African War, started on 11 October 1899 and ended on 31 May 1902.

I bought a used paperback copy of The Boer War by Thomas Pakenham. I don't know much abt the war, but I think this is probably a good book on the subject - check your local library - even if they don't have a copy, they should be able to get one on inter-library loan for you if you're interested,
