I don't have much to go on for this lookup so I apologise in advance. I'm trying to trace a William Ernest Knights who married in 1925 and died c.1964 in Lincolnshire

As I said this is all I currently have which isn't much as I do not even have when he was born. Could have been living in Lincolnshire in 1911
One contact I've tried to make on this site who has daughter of William and Dorothy above also has a Benjamin listed as b1862 in Blaxhall, Suffolk and a William b1900 Hoxne, Suffolk so this may be a point where to start.

Dennis, you have probably already looked on freebmd for possible births ... there are a few so its very difficult to know you have the right one. Ordering the marriage cert from the GRO would hopefully confirm father's name and age in 1925 which would give you a bit more to go on.
This could be him in 1911, BUT, you will need the marriage cert really to confirm, you should start with what you know and work back, as otherwise its all guesswork really!

This could be the death you refer to, but a bit later than you thought. There are other William E and William Ernest Knights deaths on Ancestry but none in Lincolnshire.

Many thanks for what you have uncovered - it will as you say probably be best to get the marriage cert to confirm. Searchng once 1911 is established is a lot easier. If the details do turn out to be correct then I have found marriage of Benjamin and Sarah Ann so may I ask for a 1891 lookup for matching ages and places of birth of these two and then I'll leave it until confirmation of Benjamin is established.
