Having grown up with a small family unit as I never knew any of my grandparents, they had either died or their was a family rift which prevented me knowing any of them, especially on my father's mother's side. I am now 55 and have found a first cousin who is alive and well and living in Australia, we hope to meet at some time in the future. I have also found several other cousins in the UK, I have learned of great aunts and uncles that I never knew existed, and have found many many cousins throughout the UK. The people on this site have been fantastic, some given their time without any connection to me at all - they have helped tremendously. My search continues, although a little more slowly, but this exercise has opened up my life, I have made new aquaintances, I have found a family I never knew I had....it has been a fantastic journey for me.
