PatinCyprus Report 19 Jan 2012 10:16

Last weekend I asked for help to find more about my husband's grandfather.

We'd had no knowledge that Francis, as he was known, had a 1st marriage and my mother in law Edith Annie Driessche had half siblings until I started to look into Francis's life, but then couldn't get any further back.

Thanks to the work of Maddie, Stuart, Adeline, Chris Ho, Quoy and Ivy we had a lot more info.Thank you all for your time and efforts.

They found that Edith Annie's mother had not been married the 3 times we knew of but 5 times. It's quite a story.

They also found photos of Francis, his 1st wife and some of their children on another site.

For the 1st time OH could see a photo of his grandfather. He noted the fact that his mother did look quite like her father.

I am glad to report we now have contact with the daughter of Francis's eldest child Antonia, she is 80 this year and e-mails. It was Antonia's grand daughter Sarah who has done her tree and who added the photos. So my husband is now in contact with his half cousin once removed or is it half second cousin and her daughter 2nd cousin once removed or..... What ever it is he has a new family to get to know.

grateful thanks
