My Mother Annie Slade was sent to canada, from devizes workhouse together with her two brothers Aurther and william. this was part of the home children scheme'to populate the colonies with good english stock.' on arrival in1904 they were seperated and never met again my mother returned in 1918, married in 37 and never ceased to try and make contact with her home child brothers, she died without achieving this. It has taken me 12 years but I now have contact, and are continuely adding family from 1904
