Andysmum is correct - I had this colour change when I was using Firefox-

Now I use Google the colour stays the same. Perhaps it depends on which server you use.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the suggestion, but I thought they already did. I only have access to the free births/marriages, but on those, if you click on the "view" button, after you return to the list, it has changed from purple to grey. (The same happens on Hot Matches)

I like this idea too. Findmypast do it and this site is owned by the same people so it should be possible.

When getting a list of records to view after doing a search, it would be useful to highlight each one in the list as it has been viewed. As each time you come back to the list, you cant remember where you got up to. Other genealogy sites do this.
