I've just been looking at the GR page on FB and saw the following... ??

Genes Reunited

We're trying to build up a base of customer reviews and need your help. The reviews can remain anonymous and are not controlled by Genes Reunited. The reviews are purely to give people an honest and truthful opinion of what Genes Reunited users think of the site. If you would like to add a review, please click here

Read Wench's review of the Genes Reunited www.genesreunited.co.uk, 3 of 7 Genes Reunited www.genesreunited.co

I have looked at the boards and can see no menton of this review anywhere on here. Am I missing something or have GR omitted to place this statement onto this site??

In a thread in the suggestions board, on 5th May, genes reunited posted "Whenever there are any important updates we do add them to this message board as well as our Facebook page. However, we'll see if we can get the 'updated' icon to show when a new announcement has been added here." Therefore, I anticipate an announcement about the review on this site soon.

I see this on the home page of genes reunited:

"Genes Reunited on Twitter

How often do people look at GR home page?

I don't!

It just goes back to all the upset earlier this year when they were announcing changes only on FB

Then, they finally agreed to post announcements on EVERY board to make sure that every one who used them knew what was happening ....... so they posted on the general boards as well as on the look-up boards.

never learn do they?

I was just going to say that I rarely look at the home page Sylvia.

It would be good to see it on here for the benefit of those regulars who are not on FB.

Normally, I do not look at the home page of genes reunited. I only did so on this occasion because I read that there was something about the review on the home page.

I have posted on facebook, asking genes reunited staff to post about the review on genes reunited site.

so that means they have announced it on Facebook, and on Twitter

but NOT where there are people actually use the site!

RobG

RobG Report 25 May 2011 22:04

once again, this goes to show how little we, the paying users of this site, mean to 'the powers that be'. We mean less to them than people on FB and Twitter who may OR MAY NOT be members.
What the hell is the announcements board for if it isn't for announcements?????
Their arrogance continues!!!

Not interested in Twitter or Facebook

Information about this site should be posted first on here

Have just seen this on Facebook - why isn't it on the GR website?

I really think that GR should get their act together and post this 'Review' thread on here for ALL members to be able to comment.

If you want an 'honest and truthful opinion' ask ALL of the members here not on a social networking site!

Disappointingly, a response from genes reunited on facebook but nothing about it posted in its own site yet.

jax Report 26 May 2011 09:52

As mentioned on FB how many of the 18000+ people who have clicked "like" to Genes reunited actually are members?

It seems to me that some people who have used the FB page think THAT is the site.

They have just responded that they wanted to test the review on a small number of people which is why they chose FB!!

There are some pertinent replies to that comment!!

GB, I know you don't do FB, but someone was praising both you and Janey the other day. Apparently, you are both fan-bloody-tastic....or words to that effect :D

Well, GB, I didn't see anything that told me that. I submitted my review and got a message saying reviews were pre-moderated. It's been over 24 hours, and it seems to have disappeared into the ether.

I guess I'll just have to register, and get a bit more voluble maybe.

So far a lot of the stuff makes one suspect that somebody's getting paid for their time ...
