I never sign out so why have I just had to sign in? I was on here earlier today and didn't have to sign in it doesn't make sense.

It is getting too silly for words. In the site, asked for help, received it, then gave help to another; clicked on another board - had to sign in.

I have no problem with any other site that I visit.

I don't have to keep signing back in



BUT I do get timed out when trying to navigate to pages within a thread at least 3 or 4 times during each session.


I circumvent getting the Error message by clicking Back if it takes longer than a certain number of seconds for the new page to open ........ experience over the last months has taught me that if this time is exceeded, I will get the Error message about 5 seconds later. So, I shorten my waiting time .............. while uttering silent swear words at GR.


This sort of thing very very rarely happens on other sites.


So why is it such a common event on GR?

Appears GR cannot fix it...AT LEAST FOR ME.

Aunty Sherlock you will get logged out if the thread is on a different extension for example I am currently logged in on .co.uk but if I click on a thread ending .co.za and I have not logged in there I will have to log in again.

The answer is to log in on all extensions and never log out then it works as one site.

I have noticed that if I access GR through my normal icon on my desktop I do not have to log in.

However if someone sends me a GR thread link which I click on, and am then transported into the GR thread, I then need to log on to move elsewhere around the boards, even to my own "my threads".

There is a little message on the purple "Add Reply" box at the top. It changes to read, "Log in to Add reply". This only happens when I click on an external thread link.

Hope this makes sense, and have absolutely no idea if this is occurring for other users.

There are two separate issues here as far as I can tell.

1. You are unexpectedly logged out of the site and have to log back in again

2. The site it taking to long to complete a request and times with the "We can't take you to the page you wanted." message

No 1 hasn't happened to me now for several weeks.

No 2 continues to happen fairly regularly, most often when I am trying to navigate around the Surname Summary pages.
