A couple of weeks with everything crossed and no problem

I start today & have logged in at least 4 or 5 times already,,What is different?

It takes me back to the home page & there are lots of flashing ads, could this be the problem

:-(

Apart from Joy and Jane - who I have PMd - is anyone else still experiencing this issue?

Really fed up with it now as it was fixed for a short time but now it is back and has been for days ,it has taken me 4 tries to get on this thread alone..

I got it last night my time and I would just back arrow and try again and then if that didn't work I would refresh.. it took a few goes but got there.

But it is annoying to press submit re a post and then get the error message... often when it finally posts you get a duplicate posting... and this is without hitting submit twice in frustration.

And this is still happeneing for me. Signed in this morning which was fine as I had cleared my temp files last night. Went out, received a PM alert and had to sign in again. Not a terrible thing to have to do but very aggravating.

Have posted on general chat to ask about having to sign in every time, was asked to add on here too.It is a nuisance to have to sign in each time.

There are two separate issues here as far as I can tell.

1. You are unexpectedly logged out of the site and have to log back in again

2. The site it taking to long to complete a request and times with the "We can't take you to the page you wanted." message

No 1 hasn't happened to me now for several weeks.

No 2 continues to happen fairly regularly, most often when I am trying to navigate around the Surname Summary pages.

I have noticed that if I access GR through my normal icon on my desktop I do not have to log in.

However if someone sends me a GR thread link which I click on, and am then transported into the GR thread, I then need to log on to move elsewhere around the boards, even to my own "my threads".

There is a little message on the purple "Add Reply" box at the top. It changes to read, "Log in to Add reply". This only happens when I click on an external thread link.

Hope this makes sense, and have absolutely no idea if this is occurring for other users.

Aunty Sherlock you will get logged out if the thread is on a different extension for example I am currently logged in on .co.uk but if I click on a thread ending .co.za and I have not logged in there I will have to log in again.

The answer is to log in on all extensions and never log out then it works as one site.
