Hi

Can we please have a next and previous census image page buttons?

At present when a family household record is split across 2 images I have to go to the address bar and change the image number returned.

For those who want to know how to do it ... here's and example ...

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/records.page/image/e1891image/321629?searchhistorykey=8375122&surname=fletcher&forename=charles

To get the next page, simply change the number 321629 to 321630 and of course, you can guess how to do the previouspage!

To make moving a bit faster you can actually DELETE everything after the number leaving just

Surely this feature should be easy enough to implement and save us a lot of time and effort.

Thanks,

Rob

How odd. In all other sites that have census, one can move from page to page with no problem :)

Indeed Kentish Maid - so why on earth can't we have it on GR - it has to be a simple programming change - heck, simply take the image numbe,r add or subtract one and re-submit the query to the database engine (don't know the engine, MySQL, Oracle et, but this is dead easy using a relational database)

I think it has something to do with GR not holding records on the site but now it is part of the Brightsolid group I can see no reason why it cannot be implemented.

Yup Toots, it would make tracking births so so much easier ... I spend hours checking records, and it can take a minute or 2 per record as my broadband in the wilds of York is not wonderful - managed to get it abovet 135k-160k at long last! Not great, and to think I am only a few miles from the city centre - makes me sick all this talk of net speeds of 24 megs and above ...

This has been a problem on GR ever since they started giving access to census records.

one reason why many of us prefer using ancestry or fmp

PLUS, a second major reason ....... I believe you cannot make changes (ie, add alternative information) to mis-spelled or mis-transcribed records

This you can do very easily on ancestry ................ I must add alternative information to about 20 records a month

I believe it not so easy on fmp ..... it can be done, but fmp seem to be mroe resistant to actually adding the information to the record page.

Making the corrections makes it so much easier for other people to find such mis-transcribed records ........... whether it is name, birth place or birth year.

Once again, thanks Syliva - making changes to help others is very important. Looks like another reason for going elsewhere ... sigh ...

SO, I may well use my offer of cheap Ancestry from the NT
