Just had the dreaded error message while trying to use the surname summary. The only way around it is to click through the summary page by page.

Just tried it now with several different navigation options.and it seems to be working ok for me.

Exactly what is the message you get and what specific actions were you trying to perform when you got the error? If there is a fault on the site then GR need precise detail in order to take a look.

IGP,

I went to surname summary and changed the filter for the past 7 days and then clicked on page 10 of the summary.

After about 45 seconds the screen went white and in the top right hand corner was the message "Sorry an Error as Occurred" The problem has been logged etc etc. Can't remember the rest of the error message but it's the same one I reported to Phil a while back when trying to send a member a pm.

Regards

From what you say, that is the standard GR timeout message - wording not really very helpful. Phil has previously mentioned it was happening because a particular process was taking too long. To fix it GR were upgrading servers to make things faster and also increasing the timeout delay so it would try a bit longer before giving up, but it sounds as though there are still some problems.

I have just repeated the operation you have described and it came back with the correct page within a couple of seconds.

Frustrating thing is that is it based on server load at any one instant and not necessarily linked to a specific operation, so often difficult to replicate.

I suppose the best we can do is to continue to report specific instances in the hope that GR will continue to work on it.

Thanks IGP, it is frustrating but by clicking through page by page I was able to see what I wanted.

We never used to have any problems with the site but since GR was sold we seem to be experiencing so many problems.
