Suggestions

To all the members who experienced difficulty moving from one census page to the one in advance or to the one in rear.
I am pleased to state the problem no longer exists. Two friendly little arrows point to the next page or to the page in rear with word to state
which one. These arrows are in the top right hand corner on the computer screen. However there is nothing indicating missing pages.

Since the encounter with Census Returns and consequent hiccough have moved forward in some areas of search, in others still seeking the elusive early ancestral relative/s
It would seem Thomas Towell born circa 1750, probably Bennington,
Lincolnshire, (seen on his son John's Examination taken in 1810 in the Liberty of Southwell & Scrooby in the County of Nottingham.)is not going to be easy to trace. John quotes in Examination words to the effect his father Thomas agreed to him being bound apprentice to Paul Royle, Wheelwright for seven years and that his parents then lived in Bennington

It's nice to see there is a growing band of people who appreciate the substantial advantages of the new tree.

Surprise isn't the word. Just found this little lot and wondered who "Inspector
GreenPen " was found when trailing this. However have made progress since those days in August 1911. All is well no problems. Actually some page missing in a census. It happens. Genes Reunited is still a tiptop organisation. I like the new tree system even if photographs have moved.

Been "drugged" with the pastime since 1988. Oh I am 1926 vintage

GR would appear to be aware of the problem.

If you can't get to the image, using any of the tips, email the details to the support team and they will send you the url to the page you want.

I had this problem. I got around it by changing the image number in the URL...

Delete the question mark and everything after it and add 1 to the number i.e. 305587+1 = 305588, therefore next page is:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/records.page/image/e1891image/305588

This isn't the record I had a problem on by the way- I think mine was an 1841 one, but have lost it now. This example breaks in the right place.
I'm not sure if it works with every census collection but it is worth a try, no?
If it works on the collection you're looking at, it is a lot quicker than the workaround Ken has posted above.

You can NEVER move from one page of a census on GR to the next page (or the preceding page).

You never have been able to

Initially, it seemed to be because GR did not carry the census images themselves, but directed you to another site.

I'm not sure whether that is still the reason.


But it is something that other people have encountered since GR first began carrying census returns.


So you are lucky if you have only just encountered i!


One solution ............ post on the Find Ancestors board and ask another member to look at the census on another site and get the information for you.

Dear Genes Reunited Team, First my profound thanks for all the help and assistance received over the years since joining Genes Reunited about eight
years ago. The sharing of Family History is without doubt helpful. If any doubts arise it is possible to check the information exchanged by all concerned.
However, a few days ago " trawling" Census Returns a situation arose where two pages had been used in the original compilation to enter details of one family but it was not possible to view both pages. There was no method to allow moving to the next page or back to the previous page.
In computer parlance - no click to view next page - or the reverse.
There is a small but disturbing item, I have not taken the exact details to point out the Census involved or the page numbers. Another small item with Microsoft Outlook 2010 which "stopped working" delayed action on my part. Hopefully all "Shipshape & Bristol Fashion" once more .
