Suggestions

I rarely sign out, but I usually have to sign in! No-one can explain this.

And...... I enter email address & password....... wait for a while... then it all goes blank....... I enter email address & password....... same thing..... usually at least three times....... then I get Error Message................. try clicking on GR Logo..... sometimes that works, mostly not........ enter email address & password... etc etc etc etc

I am steaming through my ears!!!!!!!!!!!

I hve been trying for over an hour to access GR. No joy. I decookied, defragged, rebooted...... still no joy. Tried other sites I use regularly - in immediately.

Sent a message to GR using an email I received a couple of days ago (the usual response, blah blah, delete cookies, blah blah, what server are you using blah blah, it's your fault, blah blah).

What have I done wrong this time?

About to give up........ Googled....... got in via GR uk. I don't live in UK. I have no idea why, but the UK site does not work for me, if I add names to my tree they disappear. I told the GR experts this, they can't explain why.

So I can't add the ten or so new names to my tree. I'll go do a crossword. I would weed the garden, but it's raining........ anything has to be more fun than getting frustrated with this site.

I've been a member for 7 or 8 years. How long has GR been going? Long enough to sort out some basic bugs? I wonder if they decookie, defrag, reboot..... blah blah blah...........

just tried to open GR for my evening session

Had to sign in ........................

went to new sign in page

sign in .......................

30 seconds later .......... GR opened at Home page

Been getting error messages for at least 2 days when I want I click on a thread or want to change to another board.
Also go an email from GR this morning telling me that Sue in Leeds could help Sue in Leeds with names.

What a bloody laugh this site is getting,what with all the errors and stupid emails.

Just wish that the IT TEAM would get the site working properly and not adding new things ie like the new tree that some people do not understand how to use it.

Get your fingers out and get the site up and running properly.

for the sake of those like me who find the old tree much easier and faster to navigate I hope GR keeps both then.

Julie, if you read the threads about the new tree you will see that there are several people, myself included, who are reasonably happy with the new tree.

I do realise that there is a problem with some browsers, particularly IE8, but I find the new tree is much easier and faster to navigate.

The old tree is so limited compared to other available tree sofrware, so it is nice that GR is moving the site forward.

Yes Sylvia that is the least they can do, well apart from not doing anything.

I suppose there's not a lot of point in putting stuff on the boards when nobody can log on to them.

BUT someone on FB earlier was saying that the least GR could do was to notify them on FB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ken Phillips Yes, they could at least use this page to inform us of problems. I can't log in. Not that they will have fixed the bug in the tree search that I reported 3 months ago that makes the results unreliable. I think I will take up crochet as a hobby.

I wish they would just revert to the old tree and leave well alone as I have not heard anyone say a good word about the new one. The old one was easier to work on, pleasing to the eye, and bright. When its working the new one isn't very good

GR have two "stickied" threads on the boards-one on General Chat and one on Chat named "Performance Issues" neither one has been up dated since 8th December 2011

I wonder why they do not use these threads to explain the problems they are having and how they are dealing with them and how long they expect it will take ,instead of constantly having to "firefight" complaints :-)

Yes. There were a couple of complaints to which GR responded with apologies. Apparently their database 'got a bit stuck'. :-S


Apparently, it has been fixed and all should be well.

Just got an error message when I hit submit button to post this
