This has to be the first year the remembrance poppy has not been on the Genes logo, what a pity.

You are right Lindsey. I hope someone at Genes has time to put this right.

They should not need reminding!

Shame with all the press coverage on events, in newspapers and on the tv. Perhaps Phil or Estelle will rectify their oversight.

The Poppy shows honour and respect for, not only those lost in past conflicts but those lost just this week.

We will remember them.

They have responded to a request on Facebook and they are putting a poppy on the GR logo today.

Thanks for that Gai.

I would be much happier if they responded on the site, not on Facebook.

I do not use Facebook, so without members updating their responses, many of us would never know.

Elisabeth.

I suppose it is easier to reply on Facebook as it's only one page which is easily scanned to see what has been posted.

Unlike the boards here whereby they would need to go into every thread which would get very monotonous after a while.

But it wouldn't hurt to post a reply on here as well as Facebook.

Elizabeth, you should come and join us on Facebook as you never know who you will find on there. Old school friends, relations etc.

Gai,

My point is - this Suggestions Board is for us to pass direct information to Genes, not for it to get lost in the general chatty boards. They should be monitoring it once in a while!

As has already been said. They certainly should not need to be reminded. I am disgusted! It's the day before Remembrance Day and I still don't see a poppy.

Estelle

Hi everyone, the poppy will be going live today.

In M & S this morning I saw notices that two minutes' silence would be observed at 11am on Armistice Day, and at 11am on Sunday 13th November; notices such as that have been in the shops for a while now, and poppies have been for sale for well over a week, maybe two now.

Thankyou Genes

I see the poppy has finally been displayed but I, for one, do NOT thank you GR. The very fact that you had to be coerced into displaying it and that it was not posted until less than 24 hours before the 11th. hour of the 11th. day is shameful!

Margee,

I am glad you are seeing it - it is invisible to me, unless I am looking in the wrong place.

Thank you Estelle. At last I am seeing it.

I think this is the first time since I joined in 2004 that the poppy has not been showing for several days before November 11

It is shameful that GR had to reminded to post it, and that it was only put up less than 24 hours before Remembrance Day

Even more shameful as their FB wall has been full of remindersa bout Remembrance Day, and requests for stories ............... for over a week.

I do wonder if the oversight has been due to the lack of experience of those on the team. They all seem to be rather on the young side and may not realise what this day means to so many people. They do really need to keep their wits about them.

Mind you, with the ongoing conflict in Afghanisan etc., I would have thought they would have been well aware of the loss of life of people of their own age range. I see far more young folk wearing poppies these days than I ever used to.

Playing Devils Advocate......

They have been having problems behind with the performance of the site, which probably took priority. But at least it is there now.
