That is producing error messages. When you get on Home Page and click on Community - error messages



I really need the My Threads function working. I get loads of messages that only say "Yes that is my family on 1891" or "yes that is the right marriage " so I need to get back to the threads to see what they are on about.

If I can remember the name that the person was researching then I use the Advanced Search but that is not always the case.

I use the My Threads facility constantly to keep up with those I have helped on the boards. Fortunately, apart from it being slightly slow to open on occasions, I have not had any problems with it.


As I spend a fair amount of time each day helping newbies behind the scenes, my In/Sent boxes are fairly huge.


My tree is a measly 1300.

Most people who read these boards are fully aware there are issues and hopefully GR are dealing with them, and yes the site was partly down a short while ago.

However, repeatedly copying and pasting the time-out message is hardly going to solve things and could well be contributing to the problems by increasing the post count unnecessarily....!

Catherine , the error message is affecting everyone at the moment, probably GR is running some sort of query (that is what they said last time).

This thread is about the problem that some members are having with My Threads due to the large number pf postings they have made. Even when the site is running well they are lucky if My Threads works.

Couldn't get out of it. Frozen............... eventually got out, tried to get back to GR......... and got............. Error Message.

Got back in eventually......... clicked on Community... and got Error Message.

My Threads is being very sloooooooooooooooooow to open



But has anyone noticed that the Error message says something along the lines of "If you click on the Back button it will take you back to the page you were on"


NOT TRUE


if you get the error message while trying to reload the current page when on the first page of listings on a board .............................

........... it takes you back to the Community Summary page :-(

I don't use the tree function at all ....... I have just over 130 names on my tree on here.

I've not changed or updated it in about 6 years, and rarely even look at it :-D


I have suggested that there should be some means for us to delete threads from the list in our My Threads, without having to go back to the thread and deleting the posting itself.

That would reduce the number of threads in My Threads without making any changes on the threads concerned.

Well that is not a priority for me as I have a lot less names on my tree

I suspect that GR have a problem here when it comes to allocating development resources.

The problem with 'My Threads' is only affecting a tiny tiny percentage of members - those of you who have several thousands of postings. Because of this it is probably fairly low on their list of priorities as most members don't have a problem.

I am a mere novice with less than 7,000 posts and it always works fine for me, albeit a bit slower than I would like.

Personally I would prefer that GR give priority to fixing "Surname summary" With over 14,000 names in my tree it is almost impossible to move from page to page without getting the dreaded time out error.

Still not working


Please when is this going to be fixed
