Third time lucky. Yesterday I tried once and didn't bother again after the error.

Well it has worked just now but took a couple of minutes.

Think this problem was first mentioned towards the end of November 2011 well before this thread was started.

getting on to the site is fast ....... but My Threads is still acting up.

It IS better than it was ....... but I've just had the Error message when trying to open My Threads. Then it opened quickly on the next attempt a minute or so later.

Access to My Threads is definitely much faster than it has been recently. Currently taking < 5 seconds for me.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 6 Mar 2012 22:31

I got in first time, and fast

Got into My Threads first time ....... but only after a long wait. I was expecting the Error message, but was lucky!

Let's hope that the "fix" works for longer than a few hours.

Well that did not work for very long as back to error messages

How many times does an error message have to be logged for the Team to take a look at the problem ?

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 6 Mar 2012 18:12

I'm very pleased to see that these problems seem to have been fixed but wonder why it took so long? This thread was started Feb 2nd.

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 6 Mar 2012 18:11

Has just worked but very slowly

Why should I have to read on another thread as to whether or not this problem has been sorted?

Perhaps Phil or another member of the Team could post something on the Annoucements Board

Estelle

Estelle Report 6 Mar 2012 16:15

Hi everyone, these problems should now be fixed. Please see Phil's explanation on this thread. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/suggestions/thread/1294060

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 6 Mar 2012 13:53

Any idea when this problem is going to be looked at

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 4 Mar 2012 08:06

I have to go to .co.za

.................. and then I can open My Threads every time. I can also refresh the page in My Threads, with no problem

Most times on .co.uk I can neither open My Threads nor refresh the page while on that board.

weird :-S :-S :-S :-S

Ken is absolutely correct. Not for one minute am I suggesting it is a member's fault for having too many thread postings, names in their tree etc, just making the point that the current problems are more likely to affect those that do....!

This current spate of performance problems is affecting all areas of the site and is not specific to particular functions or indeed members. As long as your PC and browser is kept up to date, there is little more that individuals can now do.

The resolution now lies with GR.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 3 Mar 2012 22:20

got in first time of trying about an hour ago ........ using Firefox, as always.

That's the first time I have not had to sign in for several days :-)

Have great problems getting My Threads to open ............... have only succeeded a couple of times for the last 4 or 5 days. Most annoying, as I depend on that to find threads that I have posted on.

Messages ............ I can only open one at a time. Open one pm, then have to leave Message Box, go back to Community Boards, and re-enter Messages before I can open the second. Repeat for every following message.

and posting or moving between or in threads .............. slooooooow

Kense Report 3 Mar 2012 21:18

"So are you saying it's my fault, IGP, because I have over 17,000 posts?"

That doesn't seem to me to be what IGP is saying. He is saying that the servers cannot cope with the size of the database and that is most noticeable for those with a large number of threads.

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 3 Mar 2012 16:06

So are you saying it's my fault, IGP, because I have over 17,000 posts? But those posts were all to help others not ask for help and it's not easy to delete them.
