PP, not quite sure your theory is correct,

I was under the impression that when GR introduced the new tree they removed the old one? and it the "old tree" was reinstated after members complaints about these faults with the new tree,

Having removed my tree some time ago i have avoided such problems

The tree on GR is a free service does this still come under the Trade Descriptions Act?

sticky one

The tree is free.....

But if you want to be REUNITED with anyone who shares your GENES you must pay the fee

or wait for THEM to see the names in your tree ............. and if they are subscribers then THEY can contact YOU, and you can reply to them

OR you can take out the cheapest sub for 6 months, contact everyone, and hope they respond in a timely member.

Then do not renew the sub, and drop back to being a Free member

Because a Free member can continue to maintain contact with anyone with whom contact had been made while a subscribing member

I found that out last year, when I was reduced to a Free Member for a couple of days ................... I could contact anyone whose name was in my Contact List, and ask them to post messages on threads for me :-)

I love Genes Reunited and have been using it successfully for some years.
Now I am totally frustrated. I continue to use my 'old tree' as the new one is no where near as good.

It's pot luck being able to view the free records. I clean my temporary internet files each day, press Ctrl and F5, restart my PC change from Firefox to IE and still have problems with Genes.
Whats happening and when can we please have things running as smoothly as they used to!

I believe you can purchase credits to send messages so that would be cheaper than a subscription
