This is terrible.

Shame on GR.

I sent an item back to a store yesterday because it was faulty.......I wonder if they will ban me????

If everyone who tried to get problems sorted (CAUSED BY GR!!!) got booted, there wouldn't be many left.

I might be next

:-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

absolutely disgusted with GR's response to GB

all because they did not want to answer her question ...................... presumably wither because they could not, or because they were ashamed of what they had done.

Looks like they´ve wiped her thread too.
Can´t find it anywhere.

wisechild

they deleted her thread, or so I am told

repeated that action twice ................ and then banned her permanently from GR.

and that means that her threads, and the ability to pm her have gone.

Someone has discovered that her posts helping others are still on here ............. thank heavens!

wisechild

wisechild Report 1 Dec 2012 07:54

So presumably that means that members aren´t allowed to question any actions of the GR team, but they can decide what members are allowed to say.
I´ll probably get banned for saying this, but it all sounds a bit "Do as I say, but not as I do"
Will be giving serious thought to renewing my membership when it expires in February. I can´t stand being controlled.

LadyScozz Report 1 Dec 2012 10:16

Me too WiseChild.

I renewed only a couple of months ago, only because I enjoy the boards.

If this total disrespect for members by GR continues I won't be renewing next year.

Absolutely disgusted with them.

:-P

I believe the requirements of a moderator include common sense, a courteous manner and a genuine interest in other people's opinions. Therefore, please can you explain why threads are deleted without a proper explanation as to why this is deemed necessary.

I thank you in anticipation of a reply.

I recently rr'd 6 posts made by another member. Never rr'd before but was pushed a bit too far.

4 of them were clear abuse, 2 were really not that bad. I expected up to 4 to be upheld but all 6 were.

I do not for one momenbt believe that the moderator currently reads any posts. If you rr somebody, it is removed without any thought whatsoever.

And if you rr the OP of a longish thread, everyone gets their posts deleted. Even if very good posts with a lot of thought. :-( :-( :-(

John and Christina

There are no moderators on this site (Unless they have appointed one), and it depends on who is in charge of button pushing that day as to whether a post/thread is reinstated, removed with no email, removed with an email or removed with a warning.

Now sometimes, there maybe many posts on one thread that are rr'd....but one person will get their posts removed with warnings and the others may not even get notified.....and the content of the removed posts were vertually the same.

I have noticed since yesterday a couple of changes on the boards......maybe another change is that any post rr'd shall now recieve a warning ............who knows?

If thats the case it could be very quite on here in a few weeks :-D

Thanks for that information Jax.

What an unprofessional way to run a General Chat forum. Pity.

JustJohn Report 3 Dec 2012 13:44

Jax Somebody had suggested they had a new moderator late last week. Can't remember who.

But with all the shenanigans over weekend, it may be that new person just panicked :-(

But I did think one of them usually moderated and thank you for explaining what appears to be a total lack of consistency.

Would one of the Team like to confirm how referred posts are dealt with?

jax

jax Report 3 Dec 2012 15:43

Yes John it was probably me....it was a joke after what was going on Saturday

But it seems you cannot joke on here because it may break some T&C or other

GR have said in the past they do not moderate the boards, they expect members to report posts/ threads that they feel break the rules

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 3 Dec 2012 20:03

GR has always said they do not have a moderator or moderators ..................

they rely on members to report posts that "break T&Cs" ................... and a staff member then looks at those reported posts.

Unfortunately, this can lead to harassment by the "phantom RR'er"

.......... and the response appears to differ depending on which staff member is "on duty".

It also answers the question as to why there is a very slow response to posts RR'd between about 4 pm on Friday and about 8:30 am Monday ........... GR staff are not at work over the weekend, and no-one is therefore assigned to the job of reviewing reported posts.

Just thought I would add Sylvia

I was rr'd last saturday and warning email not explaining what and why, was sent out straight away.

I was rr'd on wednesday 17th October removed on thursday and no email at all

Also rr'd on saturday 15th Sept, removed and email sent straight away with what I said and an explaination that it is against the guidelines to post links to duplicate threads...they should just be reported (obviously without saying why to the poster) :-S :-S

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 4 Dec 2012 01:56

interesting!

so somebody was at work on those Saturdays!

Yet I've also see many "this post has been sent for review" notices on various threads that have been there for the whole weekend.

more inconsistency!

Estelle Report 4 Dec 2012 11:47

Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd clarify the process for you.
Firstly, our request review system is monitored 7 days a week, which is why you will see posts removed at the weekend.
The team do have RR guidelines to follow. These are very clear about the way deal with request review. The team also do read the whole thread too to make sure they fully understand why something is being reported.
From now on, when a post is reported they will give the poster details of the post reported and also the reason why they removed it.
Kind regards,
Estelle

jax Report 4 Dec 2012 14:52

Estelle

Are you able to look at old threads from a month ago and explain why the posts that were reported on two threads were removed? and why one person would get notification and another not?

Estelle

Estelle Report 4 Dec 2012 14:58

Hello Jax,

all members should be told if their post has been reported or removed. Our system works so that you see the person who has reported the post and the post that has been reported.

If you would like an explanation as to why your own posts have been removed then I'll do my best to help you. However I cannot discuss posts added by other members, as I am sure you understand.

Kind regards,

Estelle

jax Report 4 Dec 2012 15:14

No thats fine.... one of the other members got notification and I know what she said, but I had at least five posts reported and remove from the posters two threads I got no email for any of them....all reported on the same day

One of the threads was started over a year ago and was bought back to the top when a new thread about the same family was started, and can also see that I obviously had at least one removed from that back then...but never had an email concerning that post either
